Starting a Project
Every engagement begins with understanding your goals. Before design work starts, we'll align with you on project objectives, scope, target audience, existing brand or product context, references, and key milestones. The clearer the context going in, the more focused the work becomes — so come prepared to share what you're trying to achieve and who it's for.
Working with Mavn
Our process is collaborative, focused, and intentionally flexible. We listen first, identify the real problem, establish a clear direction, and then move from strategy into execution. You'll stay involved at each stage through structured check-ins, not just a single handoff at the end.
What to Expect First
After you reach out, we'll schedule an initial call to understand your project, send over a proposal outlining scope and timeline, and kick things off once that's signed. From there, expect regular updates as we move from discovery into design.
Working on Your Project
Brand Strategy & Identity
If your project includes brand work, we'll build a clear strategic foundation — positioning, audience definition, and messaging direction — before any visual design begins. From there, identity work covers logo and visual marks, typography, color systems, and a graphic language built to scale across every touchpoint.
Web & Digital Design
For web and digital projects, we handle everything from information architecture and user journeys to responsive visual design and developer-ready handoff. You'll see wireframes and design systems before final builds, so there's room to course-correct early.
Reviewing & Giving Feedback
Revision rounds are built into every engagement to refine an approved direction — they're not a blank check for new concepts or scope changes. When you give feedback, we evaluate it against the original project goals to keep the work consistent and moving forward, rather than treating each round as an isolated set of edits.
Working with Deliverables
Receiving Your Files
Final deliverables are handed off in formats your team can actually use — source files, style guides, and developer-ready assets where applicable. We'll walk you through what's included and how to use it.
Ownership & Usage
Once a project is paid in full, ownership of the final approved deliverables transfers to you, unless otherwise agreed in writing. (See our Terms & Conditions for the full details on intellectual property and usage rights.)
Team & Project Management
Working with Stakeholders
If multiple people on your team are involved in approvals, let us know early who the key decision-makers are. Clear ownership on your side keeps feedback rounds efficient and prevents conflicting direction mid-project.
Invoicing & Payments
Payment schedules are set out in your project proposal or signed agreement. We'll invoice according to those terms, and timely payment keeps your project on schedule — late payments may pause work or delay final delivery.
